Δρ Κωνσταντίνος Μπούρας
Dr Konstantinos Bouras, Ph.D.
Konstantinos BOURAS was born in Kalamata, a town in the Peloponnese
region of Greece, in 1962.
He has studied mechanical engineering at the National Metsovio Institute of
Technology in Athens, and has been working in this field since 1985.
- B. has also graduated with honors in theatrical studies in the School of
Philosophy at Athens University. Post graduate studies in theater (D.E.A.) at
Paris III (La nouvelle Sorbonne), in Paris.
Many volumes of his poetic works have been published as well one novel.
His plays influenced by Greek mythology, are soon to be published in Greek,
while they are in the process of been translated into English, French and
Italian.
K.B.’s poetry is marked by the search for the sublime, by lyricism and a
sensuality in the Kavafian genre and true to the classical Greek ideal and
beauty.
He has knowledge of both Ancient Greek and Latin as well as being fluent in
five written and spoken modern languages including English, French,
German, Italian and Spanish.
K.B. is also a distinguished member of the International Society of Poets and
a very active member of the International Theatrical Institute, the International
Writers and Artists Association, the European Institute of Theatrical Research,
the Centre for Research and Studies in Modern Greek Theatre and of the
Greek Writers Association.
He has participated in several conferences and seminars while his texts and
studies on poetry and the theater have been published in recognized art and
scientific journals.
